Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes in Port Hope, ON is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for part-time roles on evening (3:00pm-11:00pm) or day (7:00am-3:00pm) shifts. Starting wage is at CAD 25.47 per hour, with duties including administration of medications, treatments and assessments in a long-term care setting.

The RPN will participate in multidisciplinary teams, uphold nursing standards, and support residents with compassionate, resident-centered care guided by College of Nurses of Ontario

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Current First Aid and BLS certification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, including infection control.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, treatments and assessments per physician orders and nursing standards.
• Develop, implement and evaluate resident care plans; monitor health and refer to doctors as needed.
• Coordinate and supervise nursing/personal care staff; orient/train new personnel and participate in in-service education.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations; participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
