Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in roofing, siding, soft metal, attic, or service work.
• Grade 12 or equivalent education.
• Proficient with computers and smartphones.
• Knowledge of installation techniques (roofing, flashing, metal work).
• Able to work independently and with others; strong initiative.

Position Summary

To assist Epic's Service team by completing a variety of tasks, ensuring that quality, timeliness, and customer care are of utmost importance. These tasks will include addressing deficiencies, assisting production teams, and performing miscellaneous repair projects in keeping with a production department — all while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Quickly respond to the urgent needs of the Epic Group of companies
• Able to recognise and repair roof and exterior deficiencies
• Completing challenging work that requires creative thinking and strong resolve
• Constructive and detailed evaluations of current issues
• Engage with and efficiently complete safety assessments, inspection reports, audits, and database processes

Customer Care

• Ability to schedule and evaluate time commitments accurately, with homeowners and Epic management
• Take time to walk homeowners through the issues they face and possible solutions
• Discretionary ability to know when to offer an answer and when to defer to management
• Taking pictures of projects to show process and results — for customers and Epic's Production Team

Skills and Educational Requirements

• Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in roofing, siding, soft metal, attic, or service work
• Computer and smart phone experience are essential
• Knowledge of installation techniques (best practice roofing, flashing, soft metal work)
• Ability to work alone as well as with others
• Able to self-direct and exhibit a high level of initiative
• Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and initiative
• Strong organization and conflict management
• Capacity to be flexible and evaluate priorities on short notice
• Excellent driving history, with a current and valid class 5 non-graduated driver's licence

Minimum Physical Requirements

This position is conducted in a field setting, often on active construction sites. Applicant must be able to perform the following:

• Physically fit with the ability to complete demanding tasks related to roofing repairs and other challenging repair tasks
• Walk on uneven terrain
• Comfortable with climbing ladders and working at heights
• Must be able to work in attics as needed, including throughout the winter months
• Move and carry construction materials and supplies that may weigh in excess of 25 kg
