Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies in Kelowna is seeking a Roofing Manager to lead the roofing production team and collaborate with Superintendents to ensure safety, quality and growth across projects. The role demands 7–10 years of commercial roofing experience, prior supervisory responsibilities, and strong skills in communication, organization, and MS Office.

You will direct daily operations, coordinate resources, and drive client relationships, while promoting Flynn's safety culture and QA/QC

• 7-10 years of experience in Commercial flat and sloped roofing
• Previous experience in a supervisory/management role
• Strong communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in MS office package
• Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines
• Knowledge of safety compliance regulations and commitment to a safe work environment
• The ability to lead and motivate groups and individuals

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all roofing operations on each project comply with Flynn’s health and safety policies
• Communicate daily with site foremen, superintendents and project teams to ensure production expectations are achievable and barriers are removed
• Coordinate material, labour and pre-planning of work areas and installation methods
• Attend Pre Construction meetings to advise on labor requirements and production challenges
• Communicate issues and delays to Management, General Contractor and project teams
• Assist and advise on crew composition and manpower requirements
• Assist in hiring and separation of field employees through interviews and performance reviews
• Establish and maintain client relationships and develop trust with clients and subcontractors
• Lead, manage, and support division staff in day-to-day and strategic activities
• Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports
• Ensure QA/QC Program compliance with Flynn
• Attend meetings to review project progress

Our Kelowna Branch, located in Lake Country, is currently searching for a RoofingManager. The Roofing Manager directs the roofing production team and works closely with the Superintendents to ensure safety, performance, quality and growth are being achieved.

A Day In The Life

• Ensure that all roofing operations on each project comply with and adhere to Flynn’s health and safety policies
• Communicate daily with assigned site foremen, superintendents and project teams to ensure production expectations are achievable and all barriers to success are removed through coordination of additional resources or communication with the client and other trades
• Work with the Superintendents and site Foreman to ensure all material, labour coordination/acquisition, pre-planning of work areas and clarification of installation methods are in place
• Attend Pre Construction meetings with project team to advise on labor requirements and production challenges
• Communicate issues and delays to Management, General Contractor and project teams
• Assist and advise on crew composition and manpower requirements
• Assist in the hiring and separation of field employees through interviews, performance reviews, and termination meetings
• Establish and maintain client relationships and develop a high level of trust and credibility with clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, and project teams
• Lead, manage, and support division staff in day-to-day and strategic activities
• Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports
• Work with the foreman, superintendent and PM to ensure Flynn follows a QA/QC Program
• Attend meetings with Estimating, PM, Coordinator, and Foreman to perform a post-mortem on the project
