Qualifications

Job description

TEK Roofing has over 25 years of experience planning, managing, and executing roofing, heritage conservation, and restoration projects of all kinds. Our team is professional, reliable, and are dedicated and proud to provide the best workmanship. We’ve installed over a million square feet of roofing with industry-leading products such as Siplast, as well as custom metal installations for architecturally significant or historical projects with copper and Rheinzinc.

We are looking for new team members to fill the position of Roofer at TEK Roofing. You will be accountable for working as part of a cohesive team to repair, replace, or install various roofing applications roofing on commercial projects which may include heritage restorations.

What You’ll Do:

• Be able to lead and work as part of a team on projects that include re-roofing and new construction
• Be able to lead other roofers on the installation or replacement of a variety of commercial roofing systems including metal, torch-on, and liquid membranes
• Train, and mentor junior members of the roofing crew
• Supervise and ensure projects are on track and within project requirements
• Work with Project Manager on reviewing needs for upcoming and current projects
• Assist with the removal and disposal of old roofing materials
• Plan and organize the loading, unloading, and organization of supplies and materials at sites when required
• Be a subject matter expert on installation techniques and resolve issues when required
• Take control of ensuring a clean site and safe work environment for all
• Ensure the crew is wearing appropriate PPE at all times
• Work with Safety Manager to follow COR compliance and ensure crew certifications are up to date
• Work at heights while following safety protocols

What You Have:

• 5+ year experience and knowledge of various roofing systems for small to large commercial and some residential projects
• 3+ years experience hands-on foreperson leading teams
• Experience with torch-on roofing
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Be able to work at heights, follow and understand safe work procedures
• Pro-active and motivated to roll up your sleeves and get the job done
• Strong work ethic – ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines while finding solutions to problems
• Team player – must value the support of those around them and look for opportunities to help others succeed
• Fall Protection Certificate
• Red Seal certification, an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Wage: $30.00 – $38.00 per hour
