Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Roll Off Driver/Labourer in Fort McMurray, AB. The role combines driving and labour tasks, requiring a valid Class 3Q license and a clean driver’s abstract to safely collect waste and support customers across multiple lines of business.

You will pull bins, operate trucks with automatic or manual transmissions, perform inspections, and assist with yard work. A 50 lb lifting ability and physical fitness are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with pulling out bins along collection routes.

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain route sheets and documentation.
• Maintain and fuel vehicles and equipment; perform yard maintenance and minor repairs.
• Basic welding knowledge is an asset; loader and skid steer experience.
• Paint and repair bins.

GFL Environmentalis looking for a Roll Off Driver/Labourer with a Class 3Q License to join our team in Fort McMurray, AB!

The Roll Off Driver/Labourer will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services and support to customers across multiple lines of businesses. The Roll Off Driver/Labourer will support the collection of waste from customer sites for transport to post-collection facilities for proper disposal.

Only candidates local to Fort McMurray will be selected for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with pulling out bins along collection routes
• Must be able to work in a physically demanding role with 50% of the time spent performing various labour duties and 50% driving.
• Possess valid Commercial Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsements and clear driver's abstract.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.Operate one or more vehicle types with both automatic and standard transmission and collect solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables on a collection route. Route may vary daily based on service needs.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety lane inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.

Requirements:

• Must be able to walk, bend, reach, and lift regularly.
• Must be physically fit to work in an outdoor environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to manually push/move up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Valid Class 3Q License and clean driver's abstract
