Cotech is looking for a detail-oriented and versatile professional to prepare, assemble, and position metal components in its robotic welding cells. You will help ensure efficient production cycles, perform quality checks, and handle first-level troubleshooting to maintain reliable and consistent production.
Your role
Preparation and assembly
- Review work orders, drawings, and manufacturing instructions;
- Identify and verify required components before production;
- Prepare workstations and welding fixtures;
- Perform required sub-assemblies before robotic welding.
Robotic cell operation
- Select the appropriate welding program for the parts being produced;
- Load and position components correctly in welding fixtures;
- Perform basic start-up adjustments;
- Start and monitor automated welding cycles;
- Maintain a production pace that meets established standards.
Quality and problem solving
- Inspect parts using drawings, gauges, and measuring instruments;
- Verify dimensions, positioning, and the visual quality of welds;
- Detect fixture, program, or assembly issues;
- Perform authorized minor adjustments and quickly report non-conformities;
- Work with technical resources when recurring issues arise.
Continuous improvement and safety
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving productivity, quality, and work methods;
- Suggest improvements to fixtures, sequences, and manufacturing processes;
- Follow all health and safety procedures applicable to robotic welding cells;
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Experience
The following knowledge and experience are required or considered important assets:
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings and use measuring instruments;
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes;
- Comfort using computerized production interfaces;
- Experience with robotic welding or in an automated manufacturing environment;
- Vocational diploma in welding and fitting;
- Experience in mechanical or metal assembly;
- Basic knowledge of GMAW/FCAW welding processes.
