Job summary

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned firm, seeks an experienced Project Manager, Roadways to join our Edmonton office. You will lead transportation projects for public and private sector clients, focusing on highways and roads, while guiding a multidisciplinary team and mentoring engineers and technologists.

You will engage with clients, manage budgets and schedules, and contribute to business development in a collaborative, supportive environment across Canada.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGA or Registered with ASET (or eligible for registration).
  • For P. Eng., 8+ years of progressive experience in Civil Engineering for public and private sector clients with a focus on the Transportation sector. For Technologists, 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience working with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is a requirement.
  • Proven project management and business development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta.

Responsibilities

  • Providing project leadership role with a team in the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents, as well as participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, contract administration, and inspection.
  • Advancing projects through the concept, design, and construction phases; managing existing clients; and developing new clients.
  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.
  • Acting as the primary contact for all project-related client communications.
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary project team to undertake major transportation projects.
  • Mentoring and coaching a team of engineers and technologists.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team as well as other disciplines and offices.
