Border Paving Ltd. seeks a Traffic Control Person to direct traffic and support safe, efficient work zones across Alberta. The role requires clear communication, good judgment and attentiveness to changing site conditions while working outdoors in varying weather. Prior traffic control or construction experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver's license with current driver's abstract required.
• Able to work independently and maintain attention while performing repetitive tasks.
• Clear and professional communication skills.
• Able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Previous traffic control or construction experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely direct vehicle, pedestrian and construction traffic through active work zones
• Communicate professionally and courteously with public, coworkers and other contractors
• Monitor traffic flow, equipment movement and changing work zone conditions
• Identify and communicate potential hazards or unsafe conditions
• Assist with setting up and taking down work zones including signs, barricades and delineators
• Ensure traffic control devices remain properly positioned and effective throughout shift
