Job summary

Barricades and Signs Ltd. in Western Canada seeks a Traffic Technician to install, maintain and remove traffic control devices in work zones. This seasonal role may transition to full-time permanent based on demand, with travel to various sites and shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

You will follow provincial specs, prepare Traffic Accommodation Plans, and coordinate with project teams while ensuring safety and accurate paperwork for coordinators.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year construction experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid provincial driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Flagger training certificate preferred.
• Construction Safety Training certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, set-up, takedown and maintain traffic control devices to provincial/local specs.
• Provide preventative maintenance and cleaning to traffic control trucks.
• Set-up and service trailer traffic equipment (message boards, lights, etc.).
• Complete paperwork accurately and send to Project Coordinators timely.
• Load/unload traffic equipment, including barricades up to 120 lbs.
• Direct motorists and pedestrians to ensure safety of road users and crews.
• Pre-plan sites using Traffic Accommodation Plans.
• Lead toolbox/on-site safety meetings and ensure fleet security.
