Job summary

AECOM in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a Street Lighting & Traffic Signal Engineer to join our Transportation team. You will design roadway lighting and traffic signal systems, performing analyses and producing specifications for municipal and provincial projects.

The role requires a P.Eng. license in Ontario, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and experience with AutoCAD and MTO standards. Travel to project sites may be required, and you will mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 4 years' experience in roadway lighting and traffic signal engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario with post-licensure experience.
• Experience designing roadway lighting and traffic signal systems using MTO standards; proficiency in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare roadway lighting and traffic signal designs with layouts and electrical details.
• Perform photometric analyses and other electrical design calculations.
• Prepare specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates.
• Ensure designs comply with MTO standards and applicable codes; mentor junior staff.
