Job summary

RVA is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for our Barrie, Ontario office. You will work with transportation and electrical groups to design traffic signals, roadway lighting, and related civil works across Ontario.

The role requires CAD proficiency, strong communication, and coordination with clients and internal teams. You will mentor junior staff and contribute to BD activities while supporting project delivery from proposal to construction.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering with a focus on roadway lighting and traffic signal design.
• 5+ years of design experience in a consulting environment.
• Familiarity with TAC, ESA, IMSA, AODA, RP-8, Ontario Traffic Manuals, OPSS, and related standards.
• Proficiency in AGi32 and AutoCAD; optional knowledge of MicroStation, AutoTurn, SPIDAcalc.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical system designs for transportation projects including roadway lighting and traffic signals.
• Prepare schematic and detailed drawings, specs and cost estimates.
• Support project phases from proposal through construction.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to support design development and delivery.
• Conduct lighting analysis with AGi32 and assist with contract documents and record drawings.
• Perform site visits, review conditions, support construction and inspections.
• Contribute to business development and client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff within the Transportation – Electrical group.
