Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and collects information from a variety of sources using observation, communication, data review and physical assessment; plans, performs and evaluates nursing interventions.
• Collaborates with patients and families in developing the care plan and ensures patient autonomy in decision making and care planning.
• Coordinates nursing care, delegates tasks to support staff, and liaises with interdisciplinary care team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Teaches patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration and maintenance; supports self-care and discharge planning.
• Documents assessments and outcomes according to Fraser Health procedures and participates in quality improvement activities.
