Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority is seeking a temporary part-time Staff Nurse in Maternity for a multi-site hospital setting in the Comox Valley region. The role involves coordinating direct patient care, applying the nursing process, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.

Shifts include 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00 on a rotating schedule. Perinatal specialty credentials are required or equivalents.

Qualifications

• Registered RN with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Basic Life Support Level C is required for general duties.
• Specialty units require unit-specific certifications and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to clients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate and administer direct client care using the nursing process.
• Respond to emergencies to safeguard clients, visitors and staff.
• Supervise and direct auxiliary personnel as needed.
