Job summary

Interior Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Penticton Regional Hospital Perinatal Unit. The nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to provide client-centered services.

Shifts include days and nights, rotating from 07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00. This is a Relief Full Time position until December 31, 2027, offering competitive wages and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or equivalent education/experience.
  • Current Fetal Health Surveillance.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) within 2 years.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years.

  • Practices in a perinatal clinical setting with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver client‑centered care.
  • Responds to changing health care needs of clients and families.
  • Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge grounded in nursing science.

About the Job

The Registered Nurse:

  • Practices in a perinatal clinical setting and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
  • Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
  • Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
  • Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities

This is a Relief Full Time opportunity until December 31, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00 hours.

About this Location

Penticton Regional Hospital serves a large geographical area stretching from Summerland to Osoyoos and across to Princeton. We have an active Perinatal Committee that works hard to ensure excellent standards of care.

We are a Regional Hospital that delivers 500-600 babies per year. Our unit is comprised of 4 delivery rooms, 7 postpartum beds and 5 female med-surg beds. We are a unit of RN’s and LPN’s with great team spirit. We work closely with all our maternity care providers including Obstetricians, Pediatricians, Family Physicians and Midwives. We are into year 7 of the moreOb program and are currently participating in a National Quality Improvement Collaborative that will ensure Baby Friendly Designation by 2021.
