North Bay Regional Health Centre seeks an experienced registered nurse for the Inpatient Rehab/Integrated Stroke Unit. The role focuses on mobility, independence, and communication goals within a multidisciplinary team.

You will work with nurses, therapists, social workers and physicians to implement individualized care plans, manage IV therapy, and participate in ongoing education and quality improvement efforts. Bilingual English/French is required at an advanced level.

Formación

• Must hold current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BLS for Health Care Providers certificate within the last 12 months.
• Recent inpatient rehabilitation and integrated stroke experience in the last 2–3 years.
• IV therapy care and management.
• Apex Innovations Canadian Hemispheres Stroke Competency.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Acute Stroke and Stroke Rehabilitation unit orientation.
• Current certifications in wound management, VAC management, central lines & CADD pumps, TPN certification, enteral feed and tracheostomy.
• Bilingualism in English and French at an advanced level; formal French assessment if needed.

Responsabilidades

• Provide nursing care to inpatient rehab stroke patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with nurses, social worker/discharge planner, therapists, and physicians to support patient goals.
• Deliver health teaching to patients and families.
• Commit to annual continuing education and quality improvement.
• Support a culture of safety and prevention of adverse events.
