Job summary

Net2Source (N2S) is seeking a senior Risk Specialist to provide portfolio-level risk oversight within a PMO. The role will establish and improve risk management frameworks, identify enterprise risks, and support informed executive decision-making in a hybrid Edmonton/Calgary environment.

You will review risk registers, develop standards, and mentor project teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate has 8–10+ years of experience in risk management for major capital projects and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, PM, Risk or related field.
• 8–10+ years of experience in project risk, project controls, PMO, or major capital projects.
• Experience with large/complex projects or portfolios.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to independently challenge project teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve project and portfolio risk frameworks, processes, and governance.
• Review risk registers, assessments, mitigation plans, and response strategies.
• Identify trends, systemic risks, and interdependencies across projects.
• Provide portfolio-level risk reporting and upscale material risks.
• Develop risk standards, tools, templates, and training.

Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and improve project and portfolio risk frameworks, processes, and governance.


• Review risk registers, assessments, mitigation plans, and response strategies.


• Identify trends, systemic risks, and cross-project interdependencies.


• Provide portfolio-level risk reporting and upscale material risks.


• Integrate risk management with cost, schedule, change, procurement, contracting, and project controls.


• Develop risk standards, tools, templates, and training.


• Advise and influence project teams, PMO leadership, and senior stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Project Management, Risk Management, or related field.


• 8-10+ years of experience in project risk, project controls, PMO, or major capital projects.


• Strong experience with large/complex projects or portfolios.


• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk analysis.


• Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.


• Ability to independently and constructively challenge project teams.
