Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Toronto is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support a portfolio of Transmission & Distribution projects. You will assist Project Managers, coordinate with clients, subcontractors and vendors, and track progress, scope, and budgets.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 5 years of experience, plus strong communication and MS Office skills. Experience with Primavera is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field; 5 years of applicable experience.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work overtime on short notice.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Primavera Contract Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist PM on distribution, substation and transmission line projects.
• Coordinate with client, subcontractors, vendors and stakeholders.
• Maintain document control and project databases.
• Monitor project scope and manage submittals, RFIs and logs.
• Support cost reporting, scheduling and risk reviews.
• Assist with project closeout and KPI tracking.
