Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Engineer in Edmonton to shape Alberta’s energy systems within the Distribution team. You will engage in hands‑on power delivery design for overhead and underground networks, while collaborating with engineers, designers, and clients to deliver robust solutions.

You’ll apply calculations, participate in design packages, and contribute to project quality and performance. The role offers growth, mentorship, and exposure to diverse projects across the province.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering and eligibility for registration with APEGA.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Demonstrated interest in power distribution design, consulting engineering, or electric utility industries.
• Strong command of English for communication with internal teams and clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Support a wide range of customer requests for new power services, including upgrades and new installations.
• Coordinate with customers and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Apply engineering calculations to prepare design packages for overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Perform quality reviews of design deliverables for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Support equipment sizing, material specification, and construction documentation.
