Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking a Distribution Line Engineer to design resilient power systems across British Columbia offices. You will work on overhead and underground distribution projects, applying CSA standards and modern design tools to deliver accurate, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with professional licensure (P.Eng) in BC or near completion.
• 5–10 years of experience in distribution line design (4kV–35kV).
• Exposure to non-linear powerline design software (PLS-CADD, SPIDAcalc).
• Proficiency in distribution modelling, structure analysis tools, and CAD/drafting interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground power distribution systems for projects from customer connections to large-scale reconfigurations.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design packages, equipment sizing, material specifications, and construction documentation.
• Apply distribution design software and CSA standards to deliver compliant designs.
• Coordinate with clients, PMs, and internal teams to support project delivery, estimates, schedules, and bids.
• Conduct quality reviews, site visits, and construction-phase support to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Strengthen client relationships and contribute to knowledge sharing and high-quality outcomes.
