Job summary

Hercules SLR Inc. is seeking a Rigging Inspector to join our Alberta team. You will inspect rigging equipment, read work orders, and issue certifications for customers across Edmonton and Fort McMurray.

The role requires at least 1 year in inspection or related industrial environments, willingness to travel, and strong attention to detail. You will use TESSALink on an iPad and work both independently and with a crew in the field.

Qualifications

• 1 year of inspection/rigging/quality control experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel out of town, including overnight absences.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in pass/fail determinations.
• Quick learner with ability to receive hands-on training; no specific rigging certification required to start.
• Reliable, punctual and accountable; able to work independently or with a team.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing field inspections.
• Comfortable using tablets and inspection software; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Inspect customer rigging equipment (web slings, round slings, wire rope slings, chain slings, shackles, clamps, fall protection) in-house and on-site per ASME standards.
• Read work orders, perform visual inspections, and determine pass/fail or need for repair.
• Approve and issue certifications based on findings.
• Record inspection results using the TESSALink app on an iPad.
• Identify common defects and damage (tears, stretched components, weld slag) during inspections.
• Assist with light repair and tagging when turnaround requires it, on-site with a teammate.
• Travel with overnight stays to customer sites across Alberta (Edmonton, Fort McMurray).
• Interact with customers on-site; minimal in-shop contact.
