Job summary

Continental Chain & Rigging Ltd., a proud member of the Hercules Group of Companies, is seeking a Lifting & Rigging Inspector in Red Deer, AB. This hands‑on role inspects, tests, and documents customer‑owned lifting gear to meet safety and quality standards.

The successful candidate will learn specialized technical skills in lifting and rigging within a supportive, safety‑first team. You will perform load testing, read charts, and maintain thorough records while following established procedures.

This is a hands‑on technical role responsible for inspecting, testing, and documenting customer‑owned lifting and rigging equipment to ensure it meets required safety and quality standards. What You'll Do

As a Lifting & Rigging Inspector, you will:

  • Inspect customer-owned lifting and rigging equipment for condition, quality, and compliance.
  • Perform proof-load and pull‑testing of equipment using a test bed.
  • Carefully read and interpret test charts to ensure equipment is tested correctly and safely.
  • Follow established inspection procedures and applicable ASME standards.
  • Complete inspection records and technical documentation accurately.
  • Enter inspection and test information into the company's inspection system.
  • Identify equipment that does not meet inspection or testing requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of quality control throughout the inspection and testing process.
  • Handle equipment safely when loading and removing items from the test bed.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with customers when discussing inspection activities.
  • Work closely with other employees in the shop to ensure an efficient turnaround of customer equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, instructions, and quality requirements.

Previous experience in any of the following would be considered an asset:
  • Lifting and rigging equipment
  • Equipment inspection or testing
  • Test-bed operation
  • Industrial or mechanical environments
  • Quality control or quality assurance
  • Reading technical charts or equipment specifications
