Job summary

Continental Chain & Rigging in Canada seeks a Rigging Inspector to join our field team. You will inspect web slings, round slings, wire rope slings, chains, shackles, and related gear at client sites and in-house, ensuring ASME compliance.

Read work orders, decide pass/fail, issue certifications, and log results in the TESSALink app on an iPad. Overnight travel to Edmonton and Fort McMurray is required, with on-site work performed alongside a teammate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in inspection/rigging/quality control or related mechanical environment.
• Willingness to travel with overnight stays; pass pre-access drug and alcohol test.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in pass/fail outcomes.
• No rigging-specific certification required to start; quick learner with in-house training.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or with a team.
• Physically able to lift/move items up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect rigging equipment (web/round slings, wire rope slings, chains, shackles, clamps, fall protection) in-house and on-site per ASME standards.
• Read work orders, conduct visual inspections, and determine pass/fail or need for repair.
• Approve and issue certifications based on inspection findings.
• Record inspection results in the TESSALink app on an iPad.
• Identify common defects and assist with light repair and tagging when needed.
• Travel to customer sites across Alberta, including overnight trips, with teammates on-site.
• Interact with customers on-site; minimal in-shop contact.
• Use tape measures and calipers to support inspection accuracy.
