Job summary

Ben-Mor Cables Inc. in Calgary is seeking an Inspection and Repair Technician to support production operations. You will inspect rigging products, identify defects, perform repairs, and help ensure safety and quality standards are met.

This full-time, on-site role requires reading imperial and metric measurements, knowledge of rigging practices, and the ability to work under pressure in a collaborative team. You will also prepare test certificates and assist with shipping of inspected items.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Experience in rigging inspection, repair, and use of test beds (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Inspect rigging products.
  • Operate test beds.
  • Perform repairs and test rigging products.
  • Apply knowledge of working load limits for slings, hoisting products, fittings and wire.
  • Identify flaws or causes of failure during inspections.
  • Maintain communication and effective time management.
  • Ensure proper handling of tools and protection of customer products.
  • Create and complete test certificates.
  • Package and prepare products for shipping.
  • Report any damaged or unsafe equipment.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and semi-annual inspections as required.
  • Assist other employees and perform other related duties as required

Your role

Under the supervision of the Branch Manager, the incumbent is responsible for inspecting rigging products, identifying defects or failures, conducting repairs and tests, preparing test certificates, and ensuring that all work meets applicable safety and quality standards

Your responsibilities
