Role Description

The Ribo Insurance Broker role is a full-time hybrid position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. In this role, the broker will advise clients on suitable insurance products, assess coverage needs, provide quotes, and prepare insurance proposals for home, auto, business, and specialty lines. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing policy changes, processing renewals, handling inquiries, and supporting claims coordination to ensure timely and accurate service. The broker will maintain regular contact with clients, build lasting relationships, and collaborate with insurers to secure competitive coverage options. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, staying current on industry trends and regulatory requirements, and contributing to a positive, compliant, and customer-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• Current RIBO license and strong knowledge of personal and commercial insurance products and regulations.
• Client service skills, including the ability to assess insurance needs, explain coverage options clearly, and build long-term professional relationships.
• Sales and negotiation abilities to present solutions, generate new business, cross-sell products, and meet or exceed performance targets.
• Organizational and administrative skills to manage multiple client files, process renewals and endorsements, and maintain accurate records.
• Proficiency with insurance broker management systems, office software (e.g., CRM tools, "Microsoft Office"), and comfort with remote collaboration technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to ethical, compliant practices.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment, balancing in-office and at-home responsibilities.
• Previous experience in an insurance brokerage or related financial services setting is an asset; additional industry designations (e.g., CAIB, CIP) are considered beneficial.
