Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Retail Lead to oversee the day-to-day operation of a department within our Winnipeg store. Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, you will lead a team, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain visual standards.

You will delegate tasks, train staff on standard procedures, handle administrative duties, and promote company programs while supporting sales goals and a welcoming, outdoor‑lifestyle shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment.
• Open availability - this position will be required to work store opening and closing shifts, as well as on weekends.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to evaluate customers’ needs and make recommendations based on needs.
• Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed customer’s expectations.
• Ability to use good judgment and logic.
• Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle.
• Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s specific products is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager
• Delegate tasks and work assignment to team members by giving clear and concise direction, and follow up to ensure proper execution
• Foster the growth and development of team members by training various standard operating procedures and processes
• Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and systems processes, following up to provide correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager
• Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department
• Provide legendary customer service by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs, and making product recommendations based off this analysis
• Promote company programs to team members and customers
• Maintain visual presentation standards including in-store signage, merchandise recovering/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming sales floor as needed
• Respond to and resolve customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope
• Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate
