Job summary

Liquor Depot Mount Royal in Calgary is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily operations and lead a high-performing team. You’ll coach staff, manage opening/closing duties, ensure compliance with Alberta regulations, and help hit sales targets in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience.
• 2+ years in a supervisory role.
• ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising, coaching, and training staff.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
• Help promote a positive, engaged team culture.
• Support daily store operations, including opening and closing duties.
• Manage store communication, updates, and task assignments.
• Work with the Store Manager on staffing, operational needs, and sales goals.
• Check ID and ensure alcohol sales meet Alberta regulations.
• Deliver friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.
• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and receiving.
