Job summary

St. Joseph is seeking a Retail Shift Supervisor for the SJH Retail Services Convenience Store in Hamilton, Ontario. This temporary 14-month, part-time role supports in-person operations with afternoon, day, and evening shifts at a fixed hourly rate of $17.60.

You will supervise daily store functions, deliver exemplary customer service, and help achieve sales budgets while maximizing profit. Training, team leadership, and inventory support are included in the duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12 education.
• 1-3 years’ experience in retail sales and customer service.
• Excellent sales point of sale and cash balancing skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and take initiative.
• Proven display and merchandising skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Provide accurate and efficient service at cash and comply with procedures for daily balancing of the Point of Sale System.
• Restocking in order to drive sale ensure prices are correct and signage is appropriate and in good condition.
• Participate in planning and executing of store set-up assists with preparation and count of the yearend inventory.
• Supervise and guide volunteers assign tasks and distribute their daily work.
• All other duties as assigned.
