Job summary

Mars Kelowna is seeking a part-time Retail Representative to sell, distribute and merchandise Mars Snacking products at retail outlets in the Kelowna region.

The role requires a high school diploma, customer-facing experience, a valid driver's license, and strong communication. You will manage shelf presence, data collection, route planning, and adherence to promotional activities to ensure in-store execution.

Responsibilities

• Selling and Distribution: suggest orders and selling presentation programs to customers; present and sell booking sheets to stores; maintain distribution of assigned products; sell new innovations; ensure promotional and seasonal compliance within designated retail outlets.
• Merchandising excellence: ensure shelves are stocked with all listed product; refill merchandiser fixtures and secure secondary space for displays; use POS for merchandising and pricing; rotate products on-shelf and in backroom for freshness.
• Data Collection/Integrity: maintain accurate data through hand-held technology as determined by the business.
• Ensuring Call-coverage: plan route schedules to maximize coverage; follow the company call coverage model and allocate time by priority segments.
• Communication and Administration: keep DSM up-to-date on territory activity; maintain stock of merchandising supplies and POS materials; follow company policies and processing credits/samples.
• Special Projects: may support special projects for Sales team as assigned.
• Other: all other duties and responsibilities as assigned; communication with Sales Organization; other responsibilities as defined including Engagement Action Planning.

Overview:

The Retail Representative is responsible for selling, distributing and merchandising Mars Snacking products at retail outlets (all channels) in an assigned territory. Part time hours 24 hours per week Mon-Wed.

The primary location of this position will be Kelowna and surrounding Towns.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Selling and Distribution:

• Responsible for suggesting order and selling presentation programs to customers.
• Presenting and selling booking sheets to stores.
• Maintaining distribution of assigned products.
• Selling new innovation.
• Ensure promotional & seasonal compliance within designated retail outlets.

Merchandising excellence:

• Ensuring shelves are stocked with all listed product.
• Refilling of merchandiser fixtures, as well as working with the customer to secure secondary space for building of display.
• Utilize POS for effective merchandising and pricing.
• Rotation of products both on-shelf and in backroom to ensure optimal product quality and freshness.

Data Collection/Integrity:

• Maintain accurate and appropriate data through hand-held technology as determined by the business.

Ensuring Call-coverage:

• Proper territory management through customer coverage that involves efficient and effective use of time and resources.
• Must plan and organize route schedule according to company call coverage model, complying with the frequency and time-in call for each banner.
• Ensuring adherence to allocation of time based on priorities established by the segments.

Communication and Administration:

• Keep DSM up-to-date regarding territory activity.
• Maintain an adequate stock of relevant merchandising supplies and POS materials.
• Follow and adhere to company policies (time, expenses, product waste, mileage etc.)
• Follow company procedures for processing credits/samples.
• Read through and understand content of communications and priorities directed to the field.

Special Projects:

• May be responsible for supporting special projects for Sales team as assigned.

Other:

• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Communication with Sales Organization.
• Other responsibilities as defined including Engagement Action Planning.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between the below range CAD 24.14 - CAD 31.68.
