Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates is seeking a Retail Representative to drive sales, distribution, and merchandising of Mars Petcare products across Surrey, BC. The role requires 3 days per week on-site and intensive drive-time between stores to optimize shelf presence.

The candidate should have a High School diploma, a valid Canadian license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior sales experience is a plus, with a focus on in-store execution and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Sell in and maintain distribution of assigned products.
• Present and implement display programs to customers and suggest orders.
• Present and sell booking sheets to stores.
• Ensure all listed products are stocked and displayed with price tags.
• Replenish display fixtures and Mars Petcare racks as needed.
• Manage territory coverage efficiently and plan routes per company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate field sales data in the company system.

Job Description:

The Retail Representative is responsible for selling, distributing and merchandising Mars Petcare products at retail outlets (all channels) in an assigned territory (Surrey - British Columbia). This position requires the incumbent to work 3 days (24 hours)/week.

What are we looking for?

• A High School diploma is a minimum requirement.
• Ability to lift product (maximum lifting requirement 50 pounds).
• Ability to drive approximately 100 km daily while making sales calls.
• Ability to sustain repeated movement which includes but is not limited to in and out of car movement, bending, leaning, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping motions.
• Sales experience would be an asset
• Ability to secure level of vehicle insurance coverage as determined by Mars Canada Inc.
• Valid Canadian driver’s license.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Sell in and maintaining distribution of assigned products.
• Responsible for presenting display programs to customers and suggesting order.
• Presenting and selling booking sheets to stores.
• Ensuring all listed products are stocked and properly displayed on shelves with store price tags.
• Replenishing of display fixtures, including Mars Petcare racks.
• Working with the customer to secure secondary space for building of display.
• Applying POS or other Marketing materials where applicable.
• Product rotation both on-shelf and in backroom to ensure optimal product quality and freshness.
• Maintain appropriate data (customer Info, survey recording, tracking, etc.…) in field sales data collection software.
• Territory management through customer coverage that involves efficient and effective use of time and resources.
• Plan and organize route schedule according to company call coverage model (frequency and time-in call).
• Keep ASM up to date regarding territory activity.
• Maintain an adequate stock of relevant merchandising supplies and POS materials.
• Follow company procedures for processing credits/cheques
