Retail Mortgage Processing Team Lead

Summary:

The Mortgage Processing Team Lead must work both independently and cohesively with others and foster a team environment. Primary Duties:

1. Manages, assigns and assist with workload for the entire processing team.

2. Fully cover for a processor while on vacation or out with sickness.

3. Fully engaged and consistently seeking improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, optimize timelines, and improve workflow for the processing team.

4. Assisting the Processing Manager with tasks such as: monitor/manage team pipeline and compliance, run weekly L10 meetings, facilitate best practice meetings, manage team OneNote, manage vacation coverage, assist with timecard approvals/issues, help with onboarding/new hire training, help with team questions and Rocks.

5. Acts as a backup to the Processing Manager in their absence, overseeing daily operations, assisting team members, and ensuring workflow and processing timelines remain on track.

6. Maintains a pipeline of loans and is responsible for the timely and compliant flow of such loans through the process, can include weekly status meetings.

7. Monitors and ensures closing dates and company deadlines are met.

8. Responsible for following company policies and procedures as directed. Never employ workarounds to procedures or policies.

9. Communicates with buyers, realtors, title companies, and builders as needed.

10. Provides excellent customer service by effectively communicating and cooperating with all internal and external customers.

11. Keeps abreast of changes in policies and procedures, standards and regulations applicable to the company and the mortgage industry.

12. Able to manage a high volume of activity and maintain production goals.

13. Embraces new technology and demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving systems

14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle delicate situations with diplomacy and tact.

15. Actively participate in and advocate for the bank’s training and development programs and commitment to learning.

16. Clearly understand and follow all regulatory and compliance policies and procedures. Notify your immediate supervisor if a non-compliance situation occurs.

17. Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

18. Attend all internal trainings as required.

Experience:

Sr. Loan Processor with a minimum 3 years of prior mortgage loan processing experience including experience with web-based automated underwriting systems, loan origination systems, and working with correspondent lenders preferred. Government loan experience is required.
