Job summary

Homeward Trust is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to support daily store operations with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and accurate sales processing. This role involves merchandising, maintaining a clean and safe shopping environment, and assisting with general store functions.

The position is a PT 3-month contract with regular weekend availability. Reporting to the Retail Supervisor, you will work with the team to meet store goals and ensure a positive donor and customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience required.
• Retail sales experience is considered an asset.
• Experience operating a point-of-sale system and handling cash transactions is an asset.
• Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional customer service and assist customers with product selection and inquiries.
• Process cash, debit, and credit card transactions accurately.
• Balance cash drawer and complete opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Receive, price, stock, and merchandise products on the sales floor.
• Maintain attractive product displays and ensure merchandise is organized.
• Assist customers with purchases, pickups, and general store information.
• Safely move and load furniture and other merchandise using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
• Inspect merchandise before it is placed on the sales floor.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, cash area, warehouse, and surrounding work areas.
• Follow health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily store operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a PT 3-month contract position, with regular weekend availability required. The successful candidate may also be scheduled for additional shifts based on operational needs.
