Job summary

Staples Canada seeks an Assistant Manager to drive customer experience and sales excellence in a fast-paced retail environment. You will coach and develop the team, ensuring high performance and a customer-first mindset while managing inventory and brand standards.

You will lead by example, hire and onboard staff, and focus on empowerment and growth to deliver exceptional service and store results.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of retail management experience, with direct accountability for achieving sales and service targets.
• Experience in leading, coaching, developing talent, and managing teams with a customer and sales-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; people are inspired by your communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritization, organization, and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Customer Experience: Lead and coach the team to provide exceptional customer service. Engage with customers, offer tailored products and services, and handle escalated customer situations.
• Sales Leadership: Drive an inspired and recognition approach through your team to enable strong sales-focused partnerships with our customers. Create an environment through your leadership in which all our Sales Associates can be their best for our customers.
• Team Development: Attract, train, develop, and engage associates. Provide clear and regular coaching and feedback to enable continuous improvement and career centered development is ongoing.
• Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Asset Protection, Privacy, Policies, and Procedures. Manage inventory, merchandising, and brand standards.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with the team. Ensure consistency and execution of all sales and customer engagement tools.
