Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Coquitlam, BC is seeking an Asset Protection Representative to deter, detect and apprehend theft, collaborate with APRs and local police, and protect assets across our stores. You will participate in audits, investigations and community events while maintaining high ethical standards.

The role requires a valid Provincial Security Guard License, basic knowledge of criminal law, and the ability to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid Provincial Security Guard License required.
• Basic understanding of Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act and Powers of Arrest and CCTV surveillance systems.
• Professional, friendly and approachable demeanor.
• A high degree of initiative and integrity in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Deter, detect and apprehend theft and fraud within our retail locations.
• Collaborate with APRs to investigate ORC cases when they arise.
• Collaborate with local police service regularly.
• Detect and investigate internal investigations; present evidence for court/arbitration.
• Identify shrink opportunities within operations and assure compliance.
• Coach and mentor colleagues on Asset Protection policies.
• Participate in store level audits and community events.
• Work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends (40 hr. week).
