Job summary

Sugarmoon Ottawa is seeking a friendly Retail Ambassador & Front Desk Administrator to join our Ottawa location on a part-time basis. You will be the first and last point of contact for clients, guiding them through skincare products and services while delivering an exceptional client experience.

You will manage bookings, check-ins/outs, phone inquiries, and transactions, while supporting memberships and helping keep the day running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Experience in beauty/retail or front desk role is a plus.
• Comfort with skincare products and ingredients.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Sugarmoon® is looking for an outgoing, beauty obsessed Retail Ambassador & Front Desk team member to join our Ottawa location.

We are not looking for someone who simply wants to sit behind a reception desk.

We are looking for someone who loves people, loves beauty and skincare, and genuinely enjoys creating an incredible client experience.

About the Role

You will be one of the first and last people our clients interact with, so your energy matters.

Our ideal Retail Ambassador is naturally social, confident starting conversations and excited to learn about skincare, ingredients and the products we carry.

You should feel comfortable asking questions, understanding what a client needs and recommending products and services that genuinely make sense for them.

You’ll also manage the flow of our front desk, including booking and rebooking appointments, checking clients in and out, answering phones and messages, processing transactions, supporting memberships and helping keep the day running smoothly.

Retail is an important part of this position. We want someone who enjoys learning why a product works, can confidently speak about ingredients and benefits, and can turn that knowledge into thoughtful recommendations.

You are confident recommending and selling retail products.

You are interested in skincare ingredients and excited to continue learning.

You are comfortable with technology, online booking systems and point of sale systems. Previous Square experience is a definite asset.

You have strong organizational skills and can confidently manage bookings, schedules and a busy front desk.

You understand social media and are comfortable helping create content, capture moments in the salon and represent the Sugarmoon brand online. Social media experience is an asset.

You are reliable, positive and willing to jump in wherever the team needs you.

Compensation

$23.15 to $24.00 per hour, based on experience.
