Nova Scotia seeks a Restorative Justice Consultant to lead community outreach, build partnerships, and advance equitable access to restorative justice across the province.

You will collaborate with the Restorative Initiatives Unit and justice partners to strengthen NSRJP, deliver tailored education, and translate community feedback into practical program improvements. Strong equity and anti-racism commitments are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant discipline with experience advancing community engagement, outreach, justice transformation, systems change or restorative justice.
• Experience working with historically excluded communities and strong understanding of access to justice issues.
• Excellent collaboration, engagement and facilitation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities for diverse audiences.
• Experience applying restorative principles and equity to pursue justice or systems change.

Responsibilities

• Advance NSRJP and extend its impact through collaboration with RIU colleagues and partners.
• Strengthen cross-sector partnerships and translate community perspectives into practical improvements.
• Develop tailored education for referral sources, justice partners, and community audiences.
• Lead outreach and communications to build trust and knowledge of restorative justice.
• Collaborate to advance restorative approaches across Department of Justice mandate areas.
• Ensure equity, anti-racism, and intersectionality are embedded in RIU work.
