Job summary

The Government of Nunavut seeks a Community Justice Outreach Worker to coordinate restorative justice referrals and support FAIA implementation in Nunavut communities. Reporting to the Community Justice Specialist, you will work across agencies to promote safety and access to justice, with a focus on Inuit communities.

You will engage with RCMP, Community Corrections, Family Services and other stakeholders, deliver public education, and prepare written reports for leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of related work experience.
• Ability to coordinate Community Justice Committee and related programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate the work of the Community Justice Committee regarding restorative justice referrals.
• Increase public awareness and access to the Family Abuse Intervention Act.
• Liaise with RCMP, Community Corrections, Family Services and other stakeholders.
• Provide written reports to the Regional Community Justice Specialists.
• Support victim services, crime prevention and offender reintegration initiatives.
