Job summary

Connective is seeking a dedicated outreach worker to support Indigenous offenders referred by Kamloops First Nations Court and Elders Council. You will mobilize community resources, assist with life skills training, and help clients reintegrate into the community while coordinating with health, probation, and court partners.

This unionized role requires availability Monday to Friday 8:30–16:30 and offers a competitive wage with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Social Work, Criminology, or related field, or 2–4 years of related experience and education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and in Indigenous led environment.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system and supporting individuals in transition.

Responsibilities

  • Identify needs of conditionally released individuals and remove barriers to services.
  • Attend First Nations Court and Elders Justice Council meetings and court dates.
  • Transport individuals to court, probation meetings, and events as required.
  • Provide daily support and intervention based on Healing Plan.
  • Communicate with Probation and First Nations Court to monitor progress and adjust plans.
