As a key member of the Digital and Technology team, this role oversees the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of restaurant technology ecosystems—including the NCR Aloha POS platform, IT infrastructure, security protocols, and new location deployments. Leveraging technical expertise, the specialist drives innovation across KFC’s digital initiatives by integrating emerging technologies into operational workflows. Cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders in Marketing, Operations, Restaurant Excellence, Franchisees, and Finance ensures alignment of technology solutions with business objectives and seamless integration across all channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary technical authority for restaurant technology solutions and integrated vendor platforms.

• Lead end-to-end technology deployment for new restaurant openings, including POS systems (NCR Aloha), network infrastructure, e-commerce platforms, kiosks, and related hardware/software.

• Collaborate with technology vendors to innovate, execute solutions, and ensure on-time launches with full operational readiness.

• Oversee Restaurant IT infrastructure, managing MSP partnerships, security protocols, and policy adherence to meet industry and organizational standards.

• Ensure IT compliance (ie: PCI-DSS) and internal audit requirements, addressing gaps through remediation plans developed with global risk teams.

• Maintain POS configurations, menu databases, and system performance to optimize restaurant operations.

• Partner with Operations and Restaurant Excellence teams to streamline POS workflows, enhance order processing, and drive innovation.

• Document processes and system configurations to ensure consistency and knowledge retention.

• Spearhead research and proof-of-concept initiatives for emerging technologies.

• Manage concurrent cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with dynamic timelines and deliverables.

• Support KFC’s digital strategy through ad hoc initiatives and collaborate with Yum! Brands on enterprise-level projects.

• Provide flexibility for occasional after-hours support to meet critical business needs.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in technology implementation and support, including 3+ years in retail/QSR environments.

• Experience in POS systems (NCR Aloha suite preferred: Configuration Center, Command Center, Payment Systems, Aloha Take Out/Online Ordering, NBO/Clearview)

• Knowledge in cloud computing and software integration concepts (middleware, microservices) is an asset

• Proficient in SDLC, test design methodologies, and end-to-end project management.

• Expertise in core technical domains:

  • Networking concepts
  • Computer software maintenance and patching
  • Computer Hardware troubleshooting
  • IT Security and Compliance (PCI-DSS)
  • IoT and Edge computing

• An ability to quickly adapt to new technology to ensure immediate support and serviceability

• Strong vendor management and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a focus on aligning technology solutions with business goals.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

• Advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, and adaptability to emerging technologies.

• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage shifting deadlines, and deliver results in agile environments.

• Highly engaged individual that seeks out a better way of doing things
