Beryl’s Pepper Pot is a fast casual Caribbean food experience offering fun and flavourful Jamaican cuisine. From fire-grilled jerk chicken seasoned with signature spices, to traditional Jamaican food and authentic twists to classic dishes, Beryl’s Pepper Pot offers one of the most dynamic ethnic food menus in the Caribbean food genre.

The purpose of this position is to interact with our guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at Beryl’s Pepper Pot. Restaurant Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Essential Job Functions

1. Prepares the tables, laying out napkins and utensils, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
2. Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items.
3. Handle the table bookings, direct customers to their tables, presenting menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the cooks.
4. Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
5. Prepare mixed drinks for service to your customers' tables.
6. Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
7. Obtain revenues, issue receipts, accept payments and return change.
8. Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
9. Fill in for absent staff as needed.
10. Assist with special events as needed.
11. Greet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.
12. Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
13. Understand and can communicate products and services available at the restaurant.
