Job Summary:
The position holder will report to the Director of QSSE and will be responsible for implementing the Supplier Quality Assurance strategy during the Development phase, from Project execution through to the end of the warranty period.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the supplier development strategy in the early stages of the project, in collaboration with the Procurement and Engineering departments, by ensuring compliance with CAD's Supplier Quality standards and requirements, as well as Customer requirements;
- Participate in supplier quotations and establish a monitoring and/or qualification plan, based on risks and opportunities consolidated with Procurement and Engineering;
- Lead and ensure proper execution of the Supplier Quality qualification plan for the project (process audits, procedure audits, First Article Inspection, etc.), which may require travel to supplier sites;
- Define supplier quality performance indicators for each project and ensure the implementation of improvement plans;
- Measure supplier performance and implement actions aimed at improving that performance;
- Support teams in the continuous improvement of supplier quality;
- Demonstrate auditing skills to assess compliance with quality standards and regulations, as well as the ability to manage audits at supplier sites;
- Ensure risk and opportunity management;
- Contribute to the improvement of the Supplier Quality process in Development and Projects;
- Contribute to the analysis and resolution of discrepancies;
- Ensure capitalization of lessons learned during the development, project, and warranty phases;
- Promote and support the implementation of supplier quality best practices among key stakeholders (Procurement, Engineering, Operations, Projects, etc.);
- Oversee incoming inspections of all materials, according to CAD’s Quality System standards and the specific requirements of each project;
- Lead the handling of supplier NCRs (Non-Conformity Reports), by coordinating the weekly MRB (Material Review Board) meeting with key process stakeholders (Procurement, Engineering, Production);
- Ensure the definition, implementation, and effectiveness of the action plan for each NCR.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the transportation or railway industry;
- 3 to 5 years of experience in supplier quality;
- Degree in engineering or equivalent;
- AAR (Association of American Railroads) training (an asset);
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook);
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes specific to the railway sector (an asset);
- Committed to meeting customer expectations (both internal and external);
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
- Analytical mindset, courteous, and strong interpersonal skills;
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to complete documentation, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and thorough.
- The candidate must be able to communicate well in English (50% of the time), as his or her duties require interaction with stakeholders and colleagues outside Quebec and Canada.
