AdaptAbilities Edmonton seeks a Team Lead for the Orange Hub Respite Centre to guide Communi ty Specialists and participants in year-round social programs, focusing on goals and meaningful engagement. The part-time role reports to the Program Supervisor, with evening sessions and onboarding. Commitment is essential for all sessions, with duties spanning supervision, planning, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 3–5 years related experience, or a Certificate/Diploma in Disability Services, Social Work, Human Services, or related field with 2–3 years related experience, or a University Degree with 1–2 years related experience
• Clear Police Information Check and Intervention Record Check are required
• Intermediate First Aid Certification CPR Level C and AED is required upon hire
• Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol is required for Team Leads working with adults
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Medication Administration are required

The Position:

This is a part-time, permanent position based out of our Orange Hub RespiteCentre and will report to the Program Supervisor.

This position is a year-round commitment to support our Social Nights program which r uns :

Winter: Jan 9 – Mar 20, 2027

Spring: Apr 10 – Jun 19, 2027

Summer: Jul 3 – Aug 28, 2027

Please note that a consistent commitment is important for these sessions and you are asked to be available from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. each Thursday throughout the 10-week program, along with an onboarding day, tentatively scheduled for October 28 (8:30am to 12:30pm). The program does not operate on statutory holidays. As a result, employees will not be scheduled to work on these days.

The Team Lead (TL) provides leadership and support to Communi ty Specialists (CS) and participants for assigned programs. This role will ensure program planning and implementation focuses on participant goals and meeting assigned outcomes. The conscientious TL acts with integrity, is open to growth, lives our purpose, cultivates teamwork, and demonstrates an extraordinary effort to empower individuals with diverse abilities and their families to grow, succeed, and belong.
