Respiratory Therapist, without general supervision - (206471)

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous quality and safety improvements are inherent in this role.

Working without general supervision and providing guidance to designated staff, the Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic assessments, administers therapeutic interventions, and ensures the safe and appropriate use of respiratory equipment.

Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience
  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Eligibility for registered membership with the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
  • Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) certification.
  • Current Cardiac Life Support, Level C certification.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
