Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy, including assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and supporting mechanical ventilation for all ages.
• Set up, calibrate, monitor, and maintain respiratory equipment.
• Monitor and assess patients' respiratory parameters and document results.
• Provide data and treatment information for medical interpretation and make technical recommendations.
• Perform arterial punctures and collect samples for blood gas analysis.
• Administer therapeutic treatments as ordered.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing and related quality control tests.
• Participate in educational programs and staff orientation regarding respiratory equipment and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, successful completion of the CBRC credentialing exam, one year of recent experience in an acute care setting or equivalent, current CPR Level C, and NRP certification. Eligible for membership with CSRT and BCSRT.

Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, effective communication, teaching ability, organizational skills, relationship building, equipment operation, and physical capability to perform duties.
