The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84 - $44.96 / hour.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Operations, and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The LPN operates within the full scope of practice as per the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards, agency policies, and unit protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient/resident/family's strengths and limitations, including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs
  • Create a supportive environment, promote involvement in healthcare decisions, provide information, and respect personal choices
  • Contribute to and update individualized care plans, participate in care planning meetings and family conferences
  • Provide nursing care according to policies, procedures, technology, and standards; record observations and report issues
  • Handle admissions, discharges, transfers following policies and procedures
  • Document care and procedures to ensure safety and comfort
  • Operate and maintain care-related equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
  • Assist in orienting new staff and students
  • Participate in quality improvement, education, meetings, and committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with BCCNM
