Job summary

Timmins and District Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the Cardiopulmonary Department. The role expects you to deliver diagnostic and therapeutic services in line with standards, while collaborating with the care team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

You must hold the COR Ontario registration and be bilingual in English and French. The position offers sign-on incentives, relocation support and pension/benefits, with options for weekend work as required by the

Job description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is anAllied Health Specialist who works collaboratively with the multidisciplinaryteam to evaluate and treat chronic and acute cardio-respiratory disease.

  • Current sign-on incentive of up to $10,000, subjectto terms.
  • Startingsalary of $38.35/hour; $74,782.50/year (As per Step 1 of the OPSEU collectiveagreement) ranging to $53.28/hour; $103,896.00/year (As Step 9 of the OPSEUcollective agreement).
  • Optionto enroll in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
  • Optionto enroll in BlueCross health and dental benefits.
  • Relocation reimbursement program of up to $3,000, ifrelocating from outside of Northeastern Ontario subject to terms.
Position Requirements:
  • Musthold a current General Certificate of Registration with the College ofRespiratory Therapists of Ontario.
  • Ademonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining effectiverelationships with clients and all members of the health care team is requiredalong with excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Abilityto prioritize and multitask in the provision of quality cardiorespiratory care.
  • Willingnessto adapt to new concepts, techniques and best practice.
  • Must possess the verbal abilityto communicate orally with patients, physicians and other medical personnel togive and receive information or instructions and to write clear and accuratereports.
  • Must possess the numericalability to make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
  • Must be BCLS certified andphysically able to perform CPR modalities to the standards of the Ontario Heartand Stroke Foundation.
  • A willingness to work 8- and12-hour shifts and weekend shifts as per the collective agreement to provide24/7 coverage.
  • Employment history whichdemonstrates regular attendance at work.
  • Must possess the ability toprovide effective services to clients/patients in both English and French. Individuals who do not meet the languagerequirements of this post are invited to submit their résumé for consideration.
PositionResponsibilities:
  • To work as a RegisteredRespiratory Therapist in the Cardiopulmonary Department.
  • Toprovide diagnostic and therapeutic services consistent with disciplinespecific standards of practice while adhering to the hospital policies,procedures, guidelines and directives.
  • All otherduties are captured in the applicable Job Description.
  • Bilingualismin both official languages would be an asset.
