Job description

Position: Resource Teacher

Location: Rorketon School

Start Date: As soon as possible

FTE: .50 FTE

Term of Employment: Term from September 3, 2024 to June 27, 2025

Rorketon School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school approximately 3 hours northwest of Winnipeg and 1 hour northeast of Dauphin. The school has a student population of 91 students with a teaching staff of 7 and 15 support staff members.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Masters’ Degree in Education or related field
• Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
• Manitoba Inclusive Education certificate or certification in progress
• At least five years of teaching experience
• Previous experience as a Resource Teacher
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
• Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction
• Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment
• Familiar with appropriate educational programming
• Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming
• Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments
• Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place
• A commitment to continue to support ongoing programs in the school
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
