Job summary

Blue Door, a not-for-profit charity in Ontario, is seeking a Resource Development Coordinator (Donor & Data Support) to bolster fundraising through precise donor data management, tax receipting, and coordination of third-party events.

You will ensure accurate donor records, timely gift acknowledgements, and meaningful engagement with donors while supporting outreach, reporting, and stewardship efforts across Blue Door locations.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising, communications, or a related field is an asset.
  • 2+ years of experience in donor services, data management and entry, or fundraising support is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in donor databases (Donor Perfect preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating community events and with data entry are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage donor database (DonorPerfect) with data entry, hygiene, and accuracy checks.
  • Conduct monthly donation reconciliation with Finance team.
  • Process and issue tax receipts biweekly for donor stewardship and retention.
  • Enter all donations into DonorPerfect with required fields per guidelines.
  • Coordinate third-party fundraising events and community outreach.

Job Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week (Existing Posting)

Blue Door is a not-for-profit registered charitable agency governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We have been an integral part of our community providing essential emergency shelter services since 1982. Blue Door’s mission is to support people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness to attain and retain affordable housing.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Resource Development, the Resource Development Coordinator (Donor & Data Support) will be responsible for supporting Blue Door’s fundraising efforts through donor data management, tax receipting, third-party event coordination, and donor support. This role ensures the accuracy and efficiency of donor records, timely acknowledgement of gifts, and meaningful engagement with donors.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage Blue Door’s donor database (DonorPerfect) including regular data entry, hygiene, and accuracy checks.
  • Conduct monthly donation reconciliation in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Process and issue tax receipts on a biweekly basis to support donor stewardship and retention.
  • Entering all donations into DonorPerfect entering all required fields according to previously set Donor Perfect Guidelines.
  • Ensure maintenance of DonorPerfect according to Blue Door protocols by all the teams at Blue Door.
  • Use Blue Door’s existing donor database to monitor progress, track, and generate reports, queries, as well as create customized campaign pledge forms.
  • Coordinate third-party fundraising events including campaigns (e.g. The Orange Door Project and other third-party fundraisers).
  • Organise and represent Blue Door at outreach and booth events to raise awareness and engage potential donors and partners.
  • Support event logistics, donor communications, and post-event follow-up.
Donor Stewardship
  • Coordinate appropriate recognition for donor contributions, including social media acknowledgements.
  • Ensure all stewardship and recognition practices align with Blue Door’s donor relations standards.
  • Develop strong professional relationships Blue Door’s stewardship framework
  • Positively communicate to the community Blue Door’s goals and work at every opportunity.
  • Assist the Resource Development Manager with the development and execution of donor stewardship strategies with the objective of further engaging all donors.
  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy of the donor stewardship list in the annual impact report.
Additional Operational Assistance
  • Support all members of the Resource Development team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with preparing and sending donor mailers

  • Utilises effective conflict resolution skills in accordance with (Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
  • Fosters positive and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, community partners and volunteers.
  • Provides referrals and follow-up as necessary.
  • Meets with manager on a regular basis and participates in completion of annual performance evaluation.
Occupational Health & Safety
