Job summary

Renard International Hospitality Search Consultants is seeking a hands-on Resort General Manager for a boutique resort and entertainment property north of Montreal, Quebec. The ideal candidate will be bilingual, familiar with the Quebec marketplace, and have hands-on operational resort experience with an entrepreneurial flair.

You will lead all aspects of resort operations, manage costs and forecasts, and drive guest satisfaction while maintaining safety and service standards.

Job description

Our client is seeking a hands‑on Resort General Manager for their amazing boutique resort and entertainment property north of Montreal in Quebec.

The ideal candidate must be bilingual, knows and works in the Quebec marketplace, and has hands‑on operational resort experience, along with an entrepreneurial flair. This well‑known resort, recognized for its exceptional hospitality and guest services, is located outside of Montreal.

The Resort General Manager will oversee all aspects of this resort operation, ensuring that financial costs and goals are controlled and met while maintaining high service standards. A proven history of analyzing room and food and beverage costs, controlling expenses, and developing accurate forecasts and strategies to maximize profits is essential.

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative guest services and continuously seek creative ways to enhance service quality, increase revenues, and improve profitability. This position emphasizes operations with a strong focus on customer service, driving guest satisfaction to the highest levels, and providing a safe, clean, and progressive work environment for the team.

Key responsibilities include managing the resort team performance, increasing sales and profitability, maintaining effective cost control, and focusing on talent development, training, and staff retention. The goal is to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

An entrepreneurial mindset, the ability to thrive under pressure, and the capability to develop proactive, rational solutions are crucial. The individual must hold team members accountable, provide strong follow-up, and motivate at all levels. Walks the grounds every day, meeting guests and supporting the staff and management team........

Proficiency in social media and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. A university degree in hotel or restaurant management is strongly preferred.

This position offers an excellent compensation package of around 155,000 that could include lovely accommodation for the right individual, along with a comprehensive benefits package. There will also be an outstanding bonus offered for this position.

Please note: This position is open to anyone legally eligible to work in Canada with current resort/hotel experience as a resort general manager in Quebec.
