Job description

A reputable law firm located in North York is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Residential Real Estate Law Clerk to join their team.

Responsibilities

1. Drafting and preparing residential real estate documents, including agreements of purchase and sale, mortgage documents, and closing documents
2. Handling all aspects of residential real estate transactions, from initial consultation to post-closing
3. Coordinating with clients, realtors, lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction
4. Conducting title searches and reviewing title documents
5. Managing client files and ensuring all deadlines are met
6. Facilitating the preparation and submission of mortgage instructions and reviewing documents for compliance
7. Handling post-closing matters, including the preparation of reporting letters and file archiving

Requirements

1. Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Law Clerk in Residential Real Estate
2. Law Clerk diploma or equivalent legal education
3. Strong understanding of residential real estate transactions, including Ontario Land Transfer Tax and title searches
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Teraview, Conveyancer)
5. Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing multiple transactions at once
6. Familiarity with Ontario Land Registry procedures and residential closing practices
