Job summary

Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation in Goose Bay is seeking a Maintenance Repairperson B to perform skilled repair, maintenance, and refurbishment on NL Housing residential units, including preparing vacant units for occupancy.

The Labrador Region maintains approximately 250 NL Housing rental properties with an office in Goose Bay and a sub-office in Labrador City, delivering programs and services across the province.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of plastering and painting practices, including use and care of tools.
• Knowledge of carpentry methods and practices, including use and care of tools.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing practices, including use and care of tools.
• Ability to exchange information with tenants and colleagues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled repair, maintenance, and refurbishment on NL Housing residential units, including preparing vacant units for occupancy.
• Handle plastering, painting, drywall repair, carpentry (doors, windows, flooring, cabinetry), and minor construction.
• Conduct basic plumbing repairs and identify leaks; assist with mold/mildew remediation and asbestos abatement per safety standards.
• Carry out minor electrical tasks and ensure safety systems are operational; perform interior and exterior repairs.
• Estimate materials and labour, maintain records, and communicate professionally with tenants.
